Looking for someone in Maryland to help with head gasket problem..

so, I just bought this 01 disco from a dealership. The kids and I bought it as a gift for the wife. Thinking I got a good deal, even took someone who is more mechanically incline then me to look at vehicle. 6 months later, one shop told me I need 6k of work on the vehicle. Leaky head gasket, etc..If anyone here lives in Maryland in the Gaithesburg area and is willing to help me repair my 01 disco with a leaky head gasket, I will compensate you for your time. Or if u know of a trusted mechanic, please let me know as well.
I am totally bummed.

but if it is just a head gasket you shouldn't be out more than a grand. Not sure what else shop told you is wrong.
