Top clamshell of Tailgate, latch stuck open
 
2006 Range Rover sport. The clamshell of the tailgate is stuck open. There was noise for a couple of seconds as if it was attempting to close but it couldn't. What can I do to fix this latch issue on the clamshell of the tailgate?
