Question Intelligent stop/start not working

Hey Friends

Just joined this Forum today. First time Land Rover Owner! 3 weeks ago bought a 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE.

2 Questions:

1. The intelligent stop/start does not work...nor has it since we bought it. I've read a lot of comments on the internet about this and it sounds like it's very fickle and doesn't seem to work much or very well at all? Is this true and shall i deal with it or shall i take back to the dealer for selling me a car that advertised it on the sticker but doesn't have it?

2. The car sticker also says Interior Ambient Lighting and from pictures i researched it seems pretty cool with different light...etc. But I don't know what the ambient lighting is...i just have regular white interior lights. There is no Ambient Lighting in the menu when i scroll through but pictures i see on-line shows there is an Ambient Lighting selection on the console computer...but not mine?? Is this different than what i purchased?

Thanks
Brett

First item, be happy the start/stop doesn't work... I personally think it is the worst thing ever put in a car or SUV. The only reason they have it, is to pass emissions when doing testing; since the engine is not running during any stops in town there is zero emissions.

Second item I can't help with... sorry.

When working with GEMS vehicles. Never try to locate a misfire by pulling plug leads off - pull the injector connector instead. Otherwise you can blow up the ECU.

Secondly never swap ECUs between vehicles to test them, because both vehicles and ECUs may stop working, and you'll have to have them all reset by a franchised LR dealer (ouch!).

Default thank Joey

ok...thanks Joey

I'll take your word for it that the stop start thing would be more of a nuisance.

I'll go to the other site for the forum too...thanks for replying
