Default Hello!

I have a 1998 Discovery. I have had it for about 2 1/2 years. I have replaced the radiator hoses, the battery, the master cylinder, and a few other things that are escaping my memory right now. My car has a semi-self changing oil system (it leaks quite a bit), but not as much as it used to.

My current issue is that it won't actually start moving. I start it, starts great, and move the shifter, then wait and wait and it never actually goes into gear. This started yesterday. Before that it would take forever to shift from 1st to 2nd. I was very gentle with it, so I would drive around at under 30mph until it was willing to shift.

Any advice it appreciated. I would love to fix it, without spending a fortune.
Thank you.
