Rover On The Run Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Age: 69 Posts: 8	Check BRAKE Pads Light Amber brake light on dash came on to check brake pads. I had front pads replaced but light is still on? How do I re-set or turn off light?

If the front brakes were the only issue, turn the turn the key on for 10 minutes and the ECU should reset itself. Otherwise you have either other brake issues or the sensors got messed up while replacing brakes.

When working with GEMS vehicles. Never try to locate a misfire by pulling plug leads off - pull the injector connector instead. Otherwise you can blow up the ECU.

Secondly never swap ECUs between vehicles to test them, because both vehicles and ECUs may stop working, and you'll have to have them all reset by a franchised LR dealer (ouch!).
