Default New member in Houston (xpost, sorry)

Hello,
Rick Lindsay here, in Houston, Texas. I just joined your forum at the invitation of Mr. Mark Dickens. I just acquired my 5th Land Rover but alas, the previous 4 are now gone. This latest truck is a 2003 Disco II, built in late 2002. As such, its a bit of a hybrid, having '02 parts and '03 parts. Like many British marques, I suspect LR used up parts in the bins from the previous version before the '03 facelift.

When working with GEMS vehicles. Never try to locate a misfire by pulling plug leads off - pull the injector connector instead. Otherwise you can blow up the ECU.

Secondly never swap ECUs between vehicles to test them, because both vehicles and ECUs may stop working, and you'll have to have them all reset by a franchised LR dealer (ouch!).
