Default 97 Discovery

My 97 Land Rover Discovery 4.0 has started having a miss/ loses power..It only starts after I've been driving for about 20 min. Doesn't do it at low rpm just once u get past about 45 mph. Doesnt do it all the time. Doesnt do it while the engine is still cold... Replaced the air and fuel filter already. I'm thinkin might be a coil goin bad or may need to do plugs and wires. Any ideas please throw them my direction thanks...

Mileage? Last tune up was done when?

I would bet on fuel pump or bad plugs or wires... but need more info.

When working with GEMS vehicles. Never try to locate a misfire by pulling plug leads off - pull the injector connector instead. Otherwise you can blow up the ECU.

Secondly never swap ECUs between vehicles to test them, because both vehicles and ECUs may stop working, and you'll have to have them all reset by a franchised LR dealer (ouch!).

Thanks Joey.. I actually planned on tryin the plugs and wires tomorrow. I'll let ya know. What confuses me is it's so inconsistent. Its a 97 with 149000 on it I've only had it about six months so I don't know when the last time anything has been done to it.. and it's first Rover so I'm learning.. I'll do plugs and wires, then fuel pump then... I guess coils.. I don't mind spending the money and workin on it but I hate just not knowing what the problem is

Thanks for the help

Trey
