Default GF Performance Chip for Disco II

I have been reading this site for several years and you guys have helped me tremendously with your vast knowledge base. Finally decided to join. Question: I saw the advertisement on the header of this site for the GF Performance Chip. Has anyone installed this on their Disco II? Did it give those type of performance increases? Any downside to installing one? Thanks for the feedback. I searched the site and didn't see any previous posts on the subject.

First things first... this forum is not used much... join over at http://www.landroverworld.org/forums/index.php

Second... There sadly hasn't been a chip made that truly helps with a rover that stays consistent, I had a powerchip installed in my 97 Disco (required my ECU to be sent to them) and it worked great for a while, but money is better spent on a cam and putting in and electric fan to replace the engine driven fan.

When working with GEMS vehicles. Never try to locate a misfire by pulling plug leads off - pull the injector connector instead. Otherwise you can blow up the ECU.

Secondly never swap ECUs between vehicles to test them, because both vehicles and ECUs may stop working, and you'll have to have them all reset by a franchised LR dealer (ouch!).
