Default WTF is this?

Hey guys, jusy wondering if anyone can tell me what this is, what it does, and why it doesn't seem to have another line attached to it?

It is a 1996 Discovery SE-7

It also has a wiring harness assembly attached to it as well that is both corroded and not connected to anything.

That is the vacuum pump for the Cruise Control.

When working with GEMS vehicles. Never try to locate a misfire by pulling plug leads off - pull the injector connector instead. Otherwise you can blow up the ECU.

Secondly never swap ECUs between vehicles to test them, because both vehicles and ECUs may stop working, and you'll have to have them all reset by a franchised LR dealer (ouch!).

Thanks. Got another one for you. Once again...
1996 Discovery SE7 with 4.0
What does the gasket look like that goes beneath the plenum? Where can I find it? How much do they run?
I don't know because my old Disco has permatex all around the thing and I haven't removed it yet as I am still driving it. I am going to be replacing the injectors and need to remove that for access. Hence, the new gasket.

I used permatex to redo my D1 when I pulled the Plenum, it tends to be cheaper and work better than the gasket anyways... in my experience.
