Default Steering Wheel Turns on Disco 1, but wheels don't:

Good day. I was trying to leave my parking space and the steering wheel went limp, now you can spin it - but the wheels don't move. No LandRover dealer handy, can anyone tell me what the problem may be ?

Sounds to me like either the steering box gave out or the linkage from the box to the steering arm did. You need to climb under and look... Don't need a Rover mechanic to fix this... just someone with tools.

When working with GEMS vehicles. Never try to locate a misfire by pulling plug leads off - pull the injector connector instead. Otherwise you can blow up the ECU.

Secondly never swap ECUs between vehicles to test them, because both vehicles and ECUs may stop working, and you'll have to have them all reset by a franchised LR dealer (ouch!).
